William Ouchi and Theory Z: A Study
of Two Cultures
This is a comprehensive study on the published Theory Z by
William Ouchi. Focus is placed upon the history and implementation of the
theory, as well as the differences in Japanese and American business management
styles that led to this hybrid theory.
Emphasis is placed upon management and employee relations, selection of
ideal employees and expected results of this management style. Finally, an
evaluation of this theory and recommended implementation in the health care
field is included.
