Abstract
On September 11,
2001, United States suffered a major attack on its soil. Since the Pearl Harbor
attack in World-War II, this led the U.S. to join the Allies in the war.
Almost 60 years after, hijacked jetliners hit the World
Trade Center
in New York City and the Pentagon outside Washington. A fourth
hijacked plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
This terrorist act forced the U.S to join another war, the War on Terror
(September 2001 Time Line, 2009).
In the morning if September 12th, at 8:45 A.M. American Airlines Flight
11 out of Boston, Massachusetts, crashed into the North tower of the World
Trade Center. 18 minutes after the first plane tore a hole in the building, the
second airliner, United Airline Flight 175 from Boston crashed into the South
tower. An hour after the first attack, another flight of American Airlines 77
crashed into the Pentagon. At 10:05 A.M. the South tower of the World Trade
Center collapsed, five minutes later United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in
Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The North tower of the World Trade Center
collapsed as well (CNN.com, 2001).
